Modernisation of the transformer substation of the thermal power shop Poltava GOK (Ferrexpo Poltava Mining) - 1

The new project at Poltava GOK* was completed by S-Engineering. Poltava GOK is one of the largest operating enterprises in the mining industry in Ukraine and a leading global manufacturer and exporter of iron ore pellets. Our specialists have completed a set of works on the modernization of the transformer substation TP-50/2 of the heat power shop. The existing obsolete equipment was replaced with a modern 0.4 kV switchgear type Sivacon S8 under a Siemens license. This technology has been successfully localized at S-Engineering’s own production facility and allows the production of low voltage switchgear in accordance with international standards and in compliance with European quality standards. Such modernization will allow Poltavsky GOK to reduce energy costs, reduce the number of emergency situations, and increase labor safety.

The S-Engineering company has a long-standing partnership with Poltava GOK. At different times throughout the entire period of cooperation, our company has performed various types of work: from designing the reconstruction of individual sections to performing turnkey works during the construction of various facilities of the plant.

So, S-Engineering specialists not only restored the documentation on the control algorithm at the site of the slurry pumping station of the Poltava GOK but also improved this algorithm at the program level. And during the modernisation of the automation systems of the cooling tower, a control and monitoring system for this section was developed and implemented. The cooling tower control system was integrated into the overall plant management system.

At the site of the crushing plant (fine and medium crushing workshop), S-Engineering employees proposed a project for a unified telemetry system. Thus, the modernisation of the dispatching system will be carried out due to the implementation of the circular principle of data collection.

Poltava Mining and Processing Plant ( is a manufacturer and exporter of iron ore pellets used in ferrous metallurgy and steel production. Located in the Poltava region, commissioned since 1970. The company employs about 8000 people. S-Engineering has been cooperating with Poltava GOK since 2013.
