Giant cabinets for steel rolling production

S-Engineering has manufactured three group frequency converters based on Siemens Sinamics S120 solutions with a total power of 5.1 MW, consisting of 46 cabinets.

The uniqueness of the project lies in the non-standard cabinet design developed by S-Engineering engineers, featuring a DC bus system with a maximum current of 5900 A. Due to the high power, the equipment requires intensive cooling; therefore, the cabinet height, including the ventilation compartment, reaches 2800 mm, ensuring sufficient airflow for forced inverter cooling.

The frequency converters have a protection class of IP43.

The modular frequency converters are designed for controlling the roller tables of the hot rolling mill in steel production.
