Production of solar power equipment based on AEG Power Solutions technology launches in Ukraine
On February 28 in Odesa, at the S-Engineering plant, a unique licensing agreement was signed under which AEG Power Solutions, through its German branch AEG Power Solutions GmbH and local affiliate 3V Power Ukraine LLC, grants exclusive production rights for solar inverters based on AEG PS technology to Ukrainian companies under the SEMAG brand. These companies were established jointly by the Metropolia Group and SE Group International.
The Metropolia Group is a leader in full-cycle engineering for the Ukrainian energy sector.
SE Group International, headed by S-Engineering, is a unique Ukrainian manufacturer of switchgear equipment, recognized for its compliance with European quality standards.
AEG Power Solutions GmbH – the German branch of AEG Power Solutions – is a globally renowned provider of power supply systems and solutions for critical and complex applications. The company has extensive experience in UPS systems and power electronics integration, using its expertise to develop renewable energy and energy storage solutions.
Obtaining access to AEG Power Solutions’ premium solar inverter technology provides SE Group International with the ability to produce a Ukrainian-made inverter that meets German quality standards, promoting the development of renewable energy in Ukraine.
Inverters up to 1000 kVA, designed for solar power plants, will be manufactured at the S-Engineering production facility in Odesa.
Metropolia and S-Engineering already have experience in implementing renewable energy projects in Ukraine. This new manufacturing initiative is a logical continuation of their partnership, establishing domestic production of key equipment for solar power plants using world-class German technology. Despite the rapid growth of renewable energy in Ukraine, inverters – one of the main components of solar power plants – have never been produced domestically until now.
High-quality inverter equipment is an essential component of every solar power plant. Equipment produced in Ukraine using AEG PS technology will have sufficient local content to obtain the U1 certificate, which will further stimulate the commissioning of new solar power plants. Accelerating the transition to renewable energy sources will significantly improve the energy and environmental situation in our region.
said Oleksandr Semeniuh, Head of SEMAG LLC and Director of Solar Energy Projects at S-Engineering.
We welcome the beginning of this partnership with Ukrainian companies. The development of renewable energy in Ukraine is increasing the demand for locally produced inverters. Finding a company that meets our high German manufacturing standards took time. The only company in Ukraine that meets these standards today is S-Engineering. We are pleased to cooperate with Metropolia, a leader in energy engineering, and with S-Engineering, a manufacturer of European-level equipment. We are confident in the success of this initiative. It is very important for us that equipment manufactured using our technology will now be produced in Ukraine, contributing to the growth of renewable energy in your country. We also have major plans to expand the product line manufactured under our technology in Ukraine.
said Jörg Liedloff, Vice President of Business Development and New Markets at AEG Power Solutions.
