What was done

S-Engineering has successful experience in modernising power supply systems and railway network monitoring systems. The key railway sections of Kazakhstan operate on equipment manufactured by S-Engineering using the German Siemens Sitras® ASG25 technology.

Due to the highest level of production processes, S-Engineering became the second company in the world (!) to be entrusted by Siemens AG with manufacturing cells based on this unique technology.

The following was delivered:

  • Supply of cells for three traction substations manufactured using Siemens Sitras ASG25 technology, and integration of seven reconstructed traction substations into a unified SCADA system with dispatching centres in Astana and Karaganda of JSC “National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy”.
  • A full scope of works on integrating the reconstructed traction substation “Astana” of Kazakhstan Railways into the SCADA system of the Astana dispatching centre.
  • S-Engineering specialists also took part in testing and commissioning the traction substation monitoring and control system, which enables operating personnel to manage the power supply network in real time both locally and from dispatching centres.

Results

Results of the traction substation modernisation for Kazakhstan Railways:

  • stable power supply to reconstructed sections;
