What was done

Pilot Energy Storage project for the administrative building of NEC “Ukrenergo”:

  • S-Engineering specialists developed a feasibility study for creating an energy-independent administrative building for NEC “Ukrenergo”. The main objective was to ensure the building’s operation with maximum use of renewable energy sources.
  • Another important task was to develop a system that would allow energy storage from alternative sources during periods of low consumption, as well as provide accounting, forecasting, and balancing of energy use.
  • The project includes the installation of solar panels on the building’s roof, the installation of energy storage batteries (Energy Storage), an electric boiler with an accumulator tank, a power distribution system, and a monitoring system.
  • Energy Storage systems make it possible to accumulate electricity during low-load periods, smooth peak loads, regulate frequency, improve power quality, and provide backup power and uninterrupted energy supply.
  • According to the feasibility study, implementation of the project can reduce electricity costs by 10% to 30%.

During the technical upgrade of the 330 kV “Novokyivska” substation ordered by “Soyuz” corporation for NEC “Ukrenergo”, S-Engineering designed, manufactured, and delivered a complete 38.5/0.4 kV transformer substation (KTP) with a capacity of 630 kVA. The KTP contains a Siemens Geafol dry transformer, a Siemens 8DA gas-insulated switchgear, and a Siemens Sivacon switchgear.
