Poltava Mining and Processing Plant. Modernization of automation and power supply systems of production sites

What was done

S-Engineering has long-term partnership relations with Poltava Mining and Processing Plant. At various times throughout the entire period of cooperation, our company has performed different types of works: from design of reconstruction of individual sections to execution of a full scope of works during the construction of various facilities of the plant.

Several comprehensive projects have been implemented:

  • A set of works on modernization of the 0.4 kV switchgear of the power control switchboard of the heat and power shop, which provides heating for the plant and the city. The existing obsolete equipment was replaced with a modern 0.4 kV Sivacon S8 switchgear under Siemens license. The 0.4 kV switchgear of substation TP-50/1 of the boiler house building of the heat and power shop was reconstructed. Modern innovative solutions were used: dry-type power transformers with cast-resin insulation rated at 1600 kVA of GEAFOL type and 0.4 kV Sivacon S8 low-voltage switchgear using Siemens technology, with an internal separation degree of at least 3b, were installed.
  • Modernization of the metering system for storage and shipment of fuel at the fuels and lubricants (POL) storage facility. An automated control system (ACS) for the filling station was developed and implemented based on a programmable controller and Siemens software, as well as instrumentation manufactured by Siemens, Aplisens and Vega.
  • Reconstruction of transformer substations of the foundry and mechanical shop, the blasting operations shop and the heat and power shop.
  • Creation of an automatic control system for the cooling tower of the recirculating water system of pelletizing plant No. 1 and No. 2.
  • Execution of power supply and automation works for the cooling tower of the recirculating water system of pelletizing plant No. 1.
  • Implementation of a power supply system for the cooling tower of the recirculating water system of pelletizing plant No. 2.
    Construction of a transformer substation for power supply to the secondary and fine crushing section of the crushing and beneficiation plant No. 2. Supply of equipment.
  • Execution of design works for reconstruction of the power supply system of the fired pellets shipment and raw materials receiving section of pelletizing plant No. 1.
  • Reconstruction of the power supply and automated control system of slurry pump station No. 1 of the sludge management shop. Execution of design works and equipment supply.
  • A comprehensive set of works on design, supply of switchgear equipment, installation and commissioning for the cooling towers of the recirculating water system.
  • Implementation of an equipment control system for the concentrate beneficiation section by flotation upgrading.
    Production and supply of power control switchboards.
  • Reconstruction of the hydraulic transport system taking into account the introduction of the OF-1 flotation capacities.
  • Modernization of the automatic control system of electric drives of several conveyors of the crushing and beneficiation plant No. 1.
  • Creation of a power supply system for the secondary and fine crushing section of the crushing and beneficiation plant No. 2.
  • At the slurry pump station of Poltava Mining and Processing Plant, S-Engineering specialists not only restored the documentation for the control algorithm, but also improved this algorithm at the software level.

Results

Such modernization will enable Poltava Mining and Processing Plant to increase the reliability and safety of power supply, reduce energy costs, decrease the number of emergency situations and improve occupational safety.
The equipment manufactured and installed by S-Engineering for the boiler house building of the heat and power shop provides power supply to the boiler house equipment used for heating almost all industrial premises of the plant.
