Banknote and Mint Factory of the National Bank of Ukraine

What was done

For the Banknote and Mint Factory of the NBU, S-Engineering implemented several comprehensive projects in the modernization of automation and power supply systems:

design, installation and commissioning works for the replacement of 5 DC drives of the paper machine with integration into a unified monitoring system of electric drive parameters;
comprehensive modernization of the paper production automation system (6 production workshops);
modernization of the speed and torque setpoint system for the paper machine drives;
reconstruction and improvement of the banknote paper production technology on the pulp preparation line for the paper sizing station;
manufacturing and supply of equipment for the modernization of the servodrive system for watermark screen printing;
design, installation and commissioning of the soft-start system for a 315 kW pulp refiner;
design, installation and commissioning of the variable-frequency control system for the paper machine fan drives;
implementation of works to increase the linear speed of the paper machine;
full scope of works and equipment supply for the modernization of the servodrive system of the watermark screen processing press;
design, installation and commissioning of the 315 kW pulp refiner soft-start system;
design, installation and commissioning of the variable-frequency control system for the paper machine fan drives;
replacement of the pulp refiner. S-Engineering acted as an EPC contractor: the full cycle of works from design to installation and commissioning was completed. The replacement of old equipment with new equipment was carried out on the pulp preparation section before feeding the pulp to the paper machine line. One of the key tasks we helped the customer solve is that the refining (pulp milling) process became fully automated. Our equipment ensures improved quality and stability of the pulp parameters, and helps prevent downtime due to emergency situations.
