Export project for a paper mill
What was done
During the project, S-Engineering specialists conducted an audit of four production areas and, based on its results, carried out a full scope of work on two of them.
- A Multi Motor Drive system was implemented – a complex solution consisting of 4 forming fabrics, 4 presses, 12 drying systems, 3 coating machines, 3 calenders, 12 threading systems, and a winding drive (a total of 116 drive units).
- Also implemented: a Roll Handling & Wrapping system.
The project included algorithm development, analysis and restoration of project documentation, and preparation of start-up and maintenance instructions for these areas.
- Safety systems Safety Speed Monitoring and Prevention of Unexpected Start were developed in compliance with international SIL 3 standards. These systems were missing from the original Chinese contractor, who left the site before project completion.
- Light-and-sound alarm systems and emergency stop systems were implemented.
During the supervision stage, S-Engineering specialists independently restored both electrical and mechanical components. - Custom software was developed to regulate paper web speed and tension.
- A full scope of work was completed on the roll transport and packaging area, and a warehouse accounting system was implemented based on Siemens software.
- Commissioning of both lines was carried out with complete verification of all connections and tuning of algorithms.
- Technological process stabilization was performed, ensuring the required quality indicators of the finished product.
- Full testing of the cardboard machine production line was completed, resulting in the first batch of three-layer coated cardboard.
